City · Malaysia
Malaysia’s capital: the Petronas Twin Towers, Bukit Bintang shopping, mosques, gardens and Batu Caves just outside the city.
Kuala Lumpur grew where the Klang and Gombak rivers meet, and is now a capital of glass towers, green parks and busy shopping streets. Most visitors stay around KLCC or Bukit Bintang, close to the main malls and restaurants.
A city tour covers the Petronas Twin Towers, KL Tower and Aquaria KLCC; the historic centre has Merdeka Square, Masjid Jamek and the National Mosque. The Lake Gardens bring together the Bird Park and the botanical gardens, and Batu Caves is a short drive north.
Kuala Lumpur is also the base for day trips to Putrajaya, Genting Highlands and Sunway Lagoon.
