City · Malaysia
Malaysia’s planned government city, built around a lake: the pink Putra Mosque, grand bridges and a relaxing lake cruise.
Putrajaya, about half an hour south of Kuala Lumpur, has been the seat of the federal government since 1999. The city was planned around a large man-made lake, with wide boulevards, parks and monumental buildings.
The usual visit takes in Putra Mosque, the Prime Minister’s office at Perdana Putra, the Palace of Justice and the bridges, often with a cruise on the lake. It combines well with Malacca or other sights south of the capital.
